Browns on the Green Signature Dish Showcased to the World
Ian Orr of Browns of the Green Stars at Donegal Signature Dish Event
All that is good about Donegal food was showcased at a special event in Harvey’s Point, when some of Donegal most talented chefs, food suppliers and trade representatives were joined by guest food writers, media and bloggers at the first ever Donegal Signature Dish event.
The event which was hosted by Donegal County Council in association with Donegal Tourism was about celebrating Donegal food and fresh local produce and was a great opportunity to promote Donegal food and the people who champion it – chefs, restaurants, suppliers and artisan producers.
Chef Patron Ian Orr showcased a showstopping dish:
Turf Smoked Donegal Lamb served with Potato Boxty, Toasted Oatmeal & Selkie Whiskey
The dish brought together elements from the Donegal landscape, hand cut turf from the bogs of Donegal, lamb reared on a Donegal Mountain, honey from Donegal Bees and Whiskey from Sliabh Liag. These ingredients brought together will transport your taste buds on a culinary journey through natural Donegal. The signature dish is now being served on the menu at Browns on the Green.
